08/12/06 | WALT EVANS GETS INDUCTED INTO THE MICHIGAN COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME
Author: Walts Manager
Local artist Walt Evans was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame on July 2nd. The ceremony took place during a week long celebration that is held yearly in Prairieville Michigan, that is home of the Hall of Fame. Many country music legends have performed on the same stage that Walt recieved his award on. While on stage Walt performed three of his favorite songs. Walt received this high honor by his peers, as his friends and family watched from the audience. Many new fans were also made that day. Walt signed autographs for everyone after the show and had his picture taken with the many fans that helped to celebrate this wonderful event. The regular comment we heard after his show was, “He has the most beautiful voice, I could listen to him sing all night. Where is he playing next, do you have a CD we can buy.“ Walt stayed and answered every question and signed every autograph as he always does at every show. When asked how he felt he replied, “When I see that the audience feels what I am singing that is just wonderful, I put a lot of feelings into what I sing, the people are just great folks. This award is heartfelt, I wish my mom could be here to see this day it would have meant the world to her. I will always keep trying to make my fans and family proud.“
Michigan is proud and we thank you for the beautiful songs that you write and sing. We are happy to see someone who has given so much to the community, through raising money for those in need and promoting Country Music every day of his life, finally receive his thank you. It couldn’t of happened to a more deserving person. Good luck in the future, we’ll be listening for you on the radio.
